He is a Graduate Chemical Engineer from IIT, Bombay and holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Operations and Finance Management from Bombay University. Bulk of his expertise lies in the areas of Strategic Planning and Project Development areas viz: Selection of technologies and Process licensors, Negotiate Joint Ventures, Evaluating Marketing Consultants and PMC Contractors for reputed companies in the Middle East. While in India he has had hands on experience in Process Engineering and Technical Support, Economics & Budget and Energy Conservation & Environment Management areas working in Hydrocarbon Sector.

Project Planning and Feasibility Studies for Refinery Petrochemicals integration in new Saudi Aramco TOTAL refinery and upgrading an existing largest oil refinery by addition of a mixed feed cracker and high propylene residue cracker with polyolefin and aromatics complexes were the main highlights of this study.

Develop a High level Business Case for secondary and tertiary industrial clusters in Abu Hadriyah, sourcing raw material from operating petrochemical industries in Al-Jubail.
Client: Adisseo France SAS (Project Development Consultant/Commercial Manager):
Built, from scratch, a highly developed business case for the Saudi plant (budget $600M). Reviewed safety in design aspects for sour gas, ammonia, methanol, sulfuric acid and HCN transport related with detailed feasibility study. Achieved synergies with major local petrochemical industries and oil refineries, Secured access to feedstock’s, State subsidized natural gas and land, identified a local JV partner and negotiated a JV agreement.
Client: JBF Petrochemicals, Mangalore, India:
Negotiate a long term contract to supply Purified Terepthalic Acid to a M.E. based petrochemicals company for their upcoming project as principal raw material.
Client: Overseas International Alliance, Mumbai, India:
Develop an economic case for buying out physical assets from SVC Petrochem-Mathura, a medium scale petrochemical company, producing PTA (purified Terepthalic acid) using para xylene from nearby IOC refinery

Responsible to achieve Refinery & Petrochemical integration and projects development in Saudi Aramco.
- Successfully led the pre-feasibility study to facilitate integration of a mixed feed cracker and downstream petrochemicals at an existing refinery for optimization with minor and major refinery modifications. Worked with technical personnel of UOP and Linde. Developed optimized refinery configuration with LP. Prepared Scope of Work for Detailed Feasibility Study and Project Execution Plan.
- Coauthored a technical paper on Refinery Petrochemical Integration in Saudi Aramco Refineries and presented the same in a technical Conference (Chemindix 2013, Bahrain)
- Member of a focused team to develop an integrated petrochemical project for a JV refinery in Jubail. Coordinated with contractor (Foster Wheeler) to develop a Pre-Feasibility Study for a mixed feed cracker and downstream polyolefin, mixed Butene’s, aromatics and Specialty Products. Mainly responsible to achieve refinery petrochemical integration, logistics support and projects for specialty products. Conducted technology appraisals to select Process Licensors/JV partners.
- Evaluated business opportunities for JVs, Techno economic appraisals of refinery complexes in Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam and India as a Process Lead in a dedicated team.

Led several large projects from concept to completion of commercial feasibility. Secured project finance from Saudi Industrial Development Fund (SIDF) and provided support to Front End Engineering Design (FEED) as member of integrated project management team (as process lead) to support assigned Project Management Consultant (PMC).

Noteworthy Accomplishments:
- Changed catalyst regeneration process in a 200 tpd industrial ethanol plant. Improved catalyst life & used recycled process water to generate steam in waste heat boilers. Realized major cost savings. (Presented a Paper: 2003 Petrotech, Bahrain). Conducted Safe Guarding Memorandum (SGM) Validation of all PSVs in SHELL’s high pressure ethylene hydration plant.
- Investigated and resolved massive catalyst loss from a fluidized bed reactor for MTBE (Methyl Tertiary Butyl Ether) plant as a member of a focused team. Recipient of a Quality management award by the company(SADAF-SABIC Affiliate)
- Energy Audits as a Lead Auditor & developed conservation strategies in Pharmaceutical, Pet-coke calcination, Chemicals & Fertilizer plants, Oil Refineries & Pulp/Paper Mills. Presented Papers in workshops on Energy Conservation strategies in Pulp & Paper Mills on ENCON Day.
- Power Point Presentations on thermal energy conservation ideas applicable to various industrial equipment and benefits in raising fuel efficiencies in periodic workshops held to promote energy conservation and cost benefit analysis while with Tata Energy Research Institute Bangalore
- Implemented several heat integration projects by swapping steam heating with hot process streams in an operating phenol plant using Pinch Analysis. Reduced specific steam consumption from 9.0 to 6.5 ton/ton of phenol.
- Managed company wide Energy Conservation Program. Developed Projects to minimize specific energy consumption. Initiated a Feasibility Study to generate 10MW power with a Cogeneration Plan to achieve sizable reduction in the power cost while working in Herdillia Chemicals Ltd as ENCON & ENIVIRO Manager.
- Led a team of deputy managers and upgraded an effluent treatment plant to successfully handle 50% overload of toxic phenols due new specialty chemical projects and a 60 TPD Phenol plant. - Conducted a Detailed Feasibility Study for 1500tpd ammonia/1700tpd urea project (SAFCO II) at Al-Jubail complex. Reevaluation of IRR and Payback for sensitivity analysis with changed raw material, product and capital costs.
- Improved productivity in a newly commissioned 60 TPD Melamine plant by leading a task force and installed balancing equipment to raise the interval between successive boil outs to prevent forced shutdowns due to choking and raised capacity and service factors (in SAFCO, Dammam)
- De-bottlenecked limiting operations, upgraded facilities to optimize Hydro-Cracker Catalyst regeneration. This resulted in 30% reduction in plant down time during T/A, increased productivity of a newly commissioned Hydrocracker (Petromin Riyadh).
- Conducted Performance Tests upon commissioning a 125,000 BPD new refinery. Evaluated and upgraded facilities and carried out turnaround activities such as hydrocracker catalyst regeneration, reformer catalyst loading and chemical cleaning of utility boilers following safe operating practice.
- Made an economic evaluation of built in crude stabilization facilities (CSF) plant in the new refinery & justified shutting them down, without affecting the quality of crude oil (mainly RVP) to atmospheric distillation unit and saved major operating costs.(Petromin Riyadh)
